Year 11 Retreat - Legacy
Last week marked a significant and transformative experience for our Year 11 2023/Year 12 2024 students as they participated in the much-anticipated "Legacy" retreat. Hosted over three days at the serene Francis Retreat in Bonny Hills, Legacy aimed to equip our students with the skills, insights and values needed to emerge as effective Year 12 leaders, poised to leave a lasting and positive impact on our community.

The retreat kicked off with a focus on leadership skills, where students engaged in large group presentations and interactive workshops. Through these sessions, they explored the practical aspects of leadership, honing essential skills such as effective communication, problem-solving and time management. It was heartening to witness the students actively participating and embracing the opportunity to develop the skills that will serve them not only in their final year of school but in their future endeavours.

Teamwork lies at the core of effective leadership and Legacy sought to instil this understanding in our students. Through a series of team-building activities and small group work, students fostered strong bonds, learned the power of collaboration and enhanced their ability to work together as a cohesive unit. These experiences will undoubtedly contribute to a more unified and supportive Year 12 cohort.

As leaders, it's essential to be grounded in core values. The retreat delved into the values necessary for creating a positive legacy. Students engaged in thoughtful discussions and self-reflection exercises to understand how their personal values align with their goals as future leaders. The culmination of the retreat featured a meaningful spiritual engagement session, providing guidance and inspiration for the journey ahead.

The tranquil surroundings of Francis Retreat in Bonny Hills served as the perfect backdrop for this transformative experience. Nestled in nature, away from the hustle and bustle, students had the opportunity to reflect and connect on a deeper level. The retreat not only provided a valuable learning experience but also allowed for moments of introspection and personal growth.

Thank you to the staff who were involved in making Legacy a resounding success. As our Year 11 students return with newfound knowledge, strengthened bonds and a clearer sense of purpose, we eagerly anticipate the positive impact they will have as they progress into their final year at St Paul's College.
